Lord God, we want to be ready for Your coming. May Your Spirit within be grace to us to serve Your people with gladness until You come. Be our faithfulness. Be our strength. Be glorified on this earth.

Lord God, we appreciate You as our Good Shepherd! It is a great blessing for us to be loved by You. You care for all our needs. For provisions, for rest, for protection You are here for us. There is nothing You have overlooked. We are the sheep of Your pasture and we tell You we want to follow You wherever You go. During the days when the shadow of death seems to press down on us, You never leave us or forsake us. We are under Your careful watch. We love You. It is our desire and delight to dwell in Your house forever. In Jesus’ sweetest name. 

““And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.””

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭7‬ ‭

Lord Jesus, be grace to us to heed Your words and the prophecy of Revelation. Help us to be sober and realize that You are coming quickly. Your admonition and encouragement to the churches apply to us. You want us to overcome the situations we find ourselves in and to find ourselves in first love with You. Oh Lord, we confess that we are not overcoming like we ought, help us to hold on to Your Holy Spirit and yield to His transforming work within us. Help us to open the door of our hearts to You. Teach us how to buy eye ointment and gold and the white garment. We ask You to open the eyes of our hearts and we come to lay ourselves down and to put on Christ. And Lord, help us to walk in the good works You have prepared already for us. I fall so short but Your Spirit is able to do what I cannot do in myself. I want to be ready for Your coming. We want to be those that long for Your appearing. Have mercy on Your people today. In Jesus’ name. 

“My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭145‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Lord God! You are so good! You are the Creator of the universe and yet You have come down to earth and take on flesh and blood and allow Your creation to draw near to You. And we who have been created in Your own image bless Your holy name. This holy name of Jesus is for us, for our calling. It is too wonderful. This holy name saves us! This holy name gives us life. We breathe this holy name. Christ Jesus! O what a name!

“Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.””

‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭29‬

We indeed have been blessed, Dear Lord! Thank You for the gift of faith. How wonderful for the Holy Spirit to make the Son’s life our reality. We do believe with all our heart. When we first heard of Your love for us, we couldn’t help responding with eager acceptance. Yes, Lord, we believe! And Father God, as You have promised that whoever believes in Jesus shall have Eternal life, we know that within us, something changed. We received hope that is not tied to our circumstances. Faith is our privilege until we see You face to face. We want to be pleasing to You.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭72‬:‭19‬

Praise the Lord! Your name is glorious. Let Your people who are called by Your name fill the whole earth. Let the whole earth bow at the name of Jesus. Let the people of the earth call on the name of Jesus and be saved. Lord God, You alone save us by Your name. And there is no one on earth who cannot be saved by Your name today. So we pray for every patch of land on this terrestrial ball to inhabit people calling on the name of Jesus, every tribe and tongue, every nation and people group, according to Your desire for all mankind to come to the knowledge of the Truth. Remember the people of Japan. Give grace especially in the desperate hour to call on Iesu Kirisuto! You will allow those who seek You to find You and You tell us to call on You while You are near. Thank You for Your heart for us all. May every heart glorify You.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬

Lord God, we don’t want to put our trust in man and have man as our confidence. We will fail one another. But You Lord, we trust in You and You are our trust and confidence. You alone are worthy of our trust. And we remind You of the newly saved M and his wife and family. He is trusting in You for his household. He wants to be the husband and father that his family can trust in, but he has tried and failed. But in You, he can trust. And You become his trust. Guide M into all Your heart as he trusts in You moment by moment and day by day. We cannot count on others and not even ourselves, but we can have confidence in You. So, as he trusts You to lead him so he can love and lead his family by Your life, thank You for blessing him with more of You. Let peace and love rule in his home as Your presence fills every room. Keep drawing him to Yourself, in Jesus’ name. 

“And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭16‬ 

Lord God, what a comfort that You welcome the children into Your arms. You don’t despise the weak and powerless. Your heart is lowly, and You allow the insignificant to draw near. There is no one too broken for You to touch. Not only do you permit the children to come near, You scoop them in Your arms and bless them. Help us to be so simple with You. We draw near. Take us in Your arms and bless us. You are our Lord and Savior. We have no one else but You Lord.

“Then she said, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me the land of the Negev, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭15‬:‭19‬

Dear Lord God, how blessed we are that You have given us the Good land in Christ. You conquered the enemy for us and we are receiving the portion of the Betrothed. But much more, You delight to give us the springs, but You want our asking and our coming to You. So Lord, we come and we are asking. Please give us the springs to water this good land. Thank You that it pleased You to give us both the upper and the lower springs. Lord God, is this a picture of the Holy Spirit, both the indwelling and the Spirit poured upon us. It pleased You to abound to us in grace. Lord Jesus, You told the Samaritan woman at the well that if only she realized who You are, she would have asked You for living water and You would have given her living water. And You gave and she was satisfied and empowered to gush forth living water in telling the people in town all about You. So Lord God, we want to have a fruitful land and we need the Spirit to teach us all things and to empower us to do all Your will. We confess that we cannot bear fruit otherwise for it is because of the Holy Spirit we can fulfill all Your will. So, we ask You for a drink for the good land You’ve given us. Thank You for living water. In Jesus’ gracious name. 

“Blessed be the Lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭144‬:‭1‬

Lord God, we have begun to see the fierceness of the battle Your enemy is waging against Your church. There is no respite and no letting up. I confess that I feel inadequate to fight as I still see myself as young and not on the front lines. But in these day, no one is spared and the front lines come to your feet. Lord God, keep my hands lifted up in prayer to You. Keep them up even as Aaron and Hur kept Moses’ hand lifted with the staff. And Lord, we pray our fingers would be plucking the strings to sing praises to You. For in Your house, You inhabit the praises of Your people. Your enemy has one fear, that is Your presence. So we keep ourselves next to the Shepherd. It’s not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit that we win. And it is in Your victory that we lift up shields of faith and the sword of the Spirit and stand in Christ’s finished work on Calvary. We are standing on victory ground. We are of the Army of the Living God! Here we are Lord. Use us. In Jesus’ victorious name!
