“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬

Lord God, we don’t want to put our trust in man and have man as our confidence. We will fail one another. But You Lord, we trust in You and You are our trust and confidence. You alone are worthy of our trust. And we remind You of the newly saved M and his wife and family. He is trusting in You for his household. He wants to be the husband and father that his family can trust in, but he has tried and failed. But in You, he can trust. And You become his trust. Guide M into all Your heart as he trusts in You moment by moment and day by day. We cannot count on others and not even ourselves, but we can have confidence in You. So, as he trusts You to lead him so he can love and lead his family by Your life, thank You for blessing him with more of You. Let peace and love rule in his home as Your presence fills every room. Keep drawing him to Yourself, in Jesus’ name. 

“And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭16‬ 

Lord God, what a comfort that You welcome the children into Your arms. You don’t despise the weak and powerless. Your heart is lowly, and You allow the insignificant to draw near. There is no one too broken for You to touch. Not only do you permit the children to come near, You scoop them in Your arms and bless them. Help us to be so simple with You. We draw near. Take us in Your arms and bless us. You are our Lord and Savior. We have no one else but You Lord.

“Then she said, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me the land of the Negev, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭15‬:‭19‬

Dear Lord God, how blessed we are that You have given us the Good land in Christ. You conquered the enemy for us and we are receiving the portion of the Betrothed. But much more, You delight to give us the springs, but You want our asking and our coming to You. So Lord, we come and we are asking. Please give us the springs to water this good land. Thank You that it pleased You to give us both the upper and the lower springs. Lord God, is this a picture of the Holy Spirit, both the indwelling and the Spirit poured upon us. It pleased You to abound to us in grace. Lord Jesus, You told the Samaritan woman at the well that if only she realized who You are, she would have asked You for living water and You would have given her living water. And You gave and she was satisfied and empowered to gush forth living water in telling the people in town all about You. So Lord God, we want to have a fruitful land and we need the Spirit to teach us all things and to empower us to do all Your will. We confess that we cannot bear fruit otherwise for it is because of the Holy Spirit we can fulfill all Your will. So, we ask You for a drink for the good land You’ve given us. Thank You for living water. In Jesus’ gracious name. 

“Blessed be the Lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭144‬:‭1‬

Lord God, we have begun to see the fierceness of the battle Your enemy is waging against Your church. There is no respite and no letting up. I confess that I feel inadequate to fight as I still see myself as young and not on the front lines. But in these day, no one is spared and the front lines come to your feet. Lord God, keep my hands lifted up in prayer to You. Keep them up even as Aaron and Hur kept Moses’ hand lifted with the staff. And Lord, we pray our fingers would be plucking the strings to sing praises to You. For in Your house, You inhabit the praises of Your people. Your enemy has one fear, that is Your presence. So we keep ourselves next to the Shepherd. It’s not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit that we win. And it is in Your victory that we lift up shields of faith and the sword of the Spirit and stand in Christ’s finished work on Calvary. We are standing on victory ground. We are of the Army of the Living God! Here we are Lord. Use us. In Jesus’ victorious name!

“But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭16‬ ‭

Thank You Lord God! Who are we that You should reveal to mere babes Your heart and Your thoughts and Your plans. But it does please You to do so, then none can boast except in Your mercy and You power. We do ask that we don’t squander what we see and what we hear but allow Your words to have the loving response from our hearts. You are crying out to Your churches to hear what You are saying in the last days. May we be obedient and take action and walk in Your Spirit’s leading. May Your word bear fruit one hundred-fold. Thank You for being so mindful of our weaknesses. Thank You for confirmation along the way. We will praise You for You are faithful to all Your promises towards us.

“How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭128‬:‭1‬ ‭

Lord God, You are worthy of our holy fear. You are God Almighty and you are enthroned in the heavens. And yet You have chosen to dwell with Your people here on earth. I confess that Your way has not been the easy way, and the way of the Cross includes having the heart broken once and again. It is a life of being poured out and yet, it is the way of our Lord Jesus. And the way of the Lord means life and peace for us all and satisfaction for God the Father. We are so blessed by His way and we choose no other way. Lord, set the joy before our eyes as we take Your way. You have created us to love as You love and to walk as You walk as the Spirit of the Son dwells in us. This way is impossible for us to live, but the only life known to the Spirit of the Son. We want no other blessing than the blessedness of Your higher ways and higher thoughts. Thank You for the enabling to press on.

“But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬ ‭

Dear Lord God, thank You for speaking to Your people, we love to hear Your voice and receive Your heart. We confess that often we hear Your words and they are wonderful, but we don’t respond in action or in thought or in heart. The words are not received in our spirit. Oh Lord, we agree and acknowledge that Your word is living and operative, and sharper than any two-edged sword. So Your word carries power for the doing, not just in action, but also in intention. So Lord God, how often we see in the Old Testament how the Spirit would come upon a person and they would be empowered to carry out Your command. We acknowledge that You have sent the Holy Spirit inside our spirit and He is well able to carry out in us all Your commands. 

We are ignorant and timid, the Spirit is wisdom and boldness. Help us to live and walk by the Spirit today so we can carry out all we hear of Your Word, faithfully and completely. We are willing. Enable us to keep Your word in perfect obedience. In Jesus’ mighty name. 

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.”

‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬

Lord God, we know You as the One who can feed the 5000 with a boy’s lunch and cause oil to flow until a widow’s creditors are fully paid off. And we know You are a debtor to no one. Even when Peter lends You his boat so You could teach the crowd You repaid him with a great catch. Forgive us when we withhold anything that You are prompting us to give. You own the cattle on a thousand hills. You don’t need our pennies, but You want our hearts. And You want us to enjoy the blessing of giving. And until we are willing to yield what You have given us to meet needs in Your house, we won’t learn just how generous You are. 

So Lord God, stir our hearts to give, and to give cheerfully, and out of a willing heart, for Your house. There will come a day when the need is over and we missed the opportunity to have a part. Forbid it Lord that this opportunity would pass from us. So Lord God. You are our treasure, and we want our hearts to give temporary, material goods to yield eternal treasures. Thank You for this blessing to give, for we desire the reality of the blessedness of giving being greater than that of receiving. We do love You. Holy Spirit, would You teach us and lead us to experience Your faithfulness in this.

““Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬

Lord God, do help us these days to pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. We confess our tendencies to put ourselves first and so miss opportunities for Your life to be expressed through us. So Lord, help us not to retreat from situations that need Your presence. Give us grace to bring You into conflict so Your peace can rule and overrule. Without You, there is no peace. And wherever You are, Your righteous rule ushers in peace that surpasses understanding, peace that the world cannot give. The world is capable of temporary peace, or ceasefire at best, but the peace You give is abiding. For in You, everyone is satisfied. So live out the peacemaker in us all, Dear Lord. This is the evidence of the Son’s life in resurrection in Your people here on earth. We are sons!

“How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭4

Dear Lord God, like David, our hearts desire is to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Like the birds, the swallows, find us making a nest for the young by Your altars. We would be like the house of Obed-Edom, content to be doorkeepers in Your house in all generations. And even in times of upheaval, willing to bring our Samuels like the heart of Hannah. We would be in this company of lovers of God, and our declaration is that we love our Master, we will not go out free. Pierce our ears, Lord, for You have loved us as sons. We love You, Lord. We want to be where You are. In Your presence is fullness of joy. Your house is our home, and we are satisfied and content to dwell in Your house only to find that we are Your house, and You dwell in us. We praise You! We will ever and always be amazed at Your higher ways and Your higher thoughts! How blessed we truly are!
